Don’t expect this to be a normal “About Me” section.  I’m not a  normal realtor.

I didn’t “grow up” in the business.  In fact, after getting both an undergraduate degree and an MBA,  I spent almost 30 years “growing up” managing people and processes in a variety of businesses from manufacturing to consulting.

I started my career as a Marketing Manager, and progressed into General Management. For 9 years, I managed one of the country’s largest Occupational Health and Safety consulting firms with a client base comprised of mostly Fortune 500 manufacturing and transportation firms. These included; DuPont, International Paper, Amtrak, BNSF Railroad and Unocal to name a few.

I always had the entrepreneurial itch.  I was presented with an opportunity to turn around a troubled Commercial Furniture and Interior Design firm.  After three years, I bought it, and ran it for ten more.

After getting out of the commercial furniture business.  I was convinced by another Realtor who handled a personal transaction for me,  to consider the profession.  His reasoning was; the profession needed people who understood business.  After all, the sale or purchase of real estate is usually a family’s largest business transaction.

Why This Matters… I provide my clients with the advantage of years of professional experience in financial analysis, product management, promotion , and negotiation. I’m a competent professional with a proven track record of working hard for his clients’ benefit.

My Work Life …

My Real Life …

Outside of my professional life, my personal life is fairly unremarkable, but is a proud accomplishment.  I’ve been married to the same person, Suzie, for almost 30 years.  We have owned homes in Ardmore since we were married.  First in Haverford Township, now in Lower Merion.  We also have two kids, both boys, who have managed to stay in school, out of trouble and are both productive, contributing citizens that would make any parent proud. Our oldest is already out of college, St Joseph’s University, and is in the workforce, paying off Student Loans.  Our younger son is earned his degree at Temple, also working, and had a job waiting for him after graduation.  No small feat for a History major! So, why should this matter to my clients?

Why This Matters…It’s simple…no distractions.  Unlike a lot of other people, I have no “drama” in my life. instead of devoting time and resources to divorce attorneys, legal and health problems; I can devote my time to your needs.

I’m a “Local”…

I’m like most proud Philadelphians.  Born here, raised here, educated here.  Both of my parents were originally from South Philadelphia.  I spent my early years in West Philly, and moved to Bala Cynwyd at a young age and subsequently lived in Wynnewood and now Ardmore.  Educated in parochial grade school, then on to Malvern Prep and St. Joseph’s University (My son and father, both Toms as well, are also SJU grads).  As a result, I have spent a lot of time in every part of the region.

Throughout my business career, I have worked at local firms and traveled to local clients, so I  also know the area well from these opportunities.  As a Realtor, I’ve completed transactions in Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester Counties as well as several neighborhoods in the City.  I try to serve our community by regularly volunteering for local charities, through Fox & Roach Charities and other organizations.

Why This Matters… I know this area as well as anyone, and better than most. This knowledge is not limited to the Main Line.  I know the City from  Oxford Circle to Packer Park.  I know the suburbs equally as well whether you’re looking for a townhome in Plymouth Meeting,  a McMansion in Exton or a single family home in Bryn Mawr.  I’m your local Expert.

Throughout my career, I have always used current technology to communicate better, improve product offerings, simplify processes and improve efficiency.  BHHS Fox & Roach provides us with an incredible toolbox of technical products.  I incorporate every one into my daily routine to communicate with clients, research properties for sale or purchase and to simplify and expedite transactions.  I don’t stop there.  I purchase my own products to add to the toolbox.  For example, every word, every graphic on this website was developed by me.  Additionally, I take every opportunity to acquire and improve my technical skills through in-house and outside training resources.

Why This Matters…Real Estate is changing every day due to technology.  To be effective for their clients, today’s agent needs to be not only aware of this technology, but also needs to embrace it and to be proficient in it.  In fact, I have received the National Association of Realtors “ePro” Designation.  Click here, or on the ePro logo below for information as to how this benefits my clients.  I will use every tool available for you to find a home, sell your home and manage your transaction.  This means you will have he benefit of timely and accurate information, quick communication and smooth transactions.

I’m a Techie…

I Know Houses …

I come from a long line of DIYer’s, who were basically too cheap and stubborn to hire contractors.  I’”ve been involved in maintaining, repairing and remodeling homes since I was a teenager.  From this young age, I was always helping with my our home, our Shore House, my Aunt’s and Uncles homes as well as a variety of neighbors.  By the time I graduated college, I was actually making a living rehabbing houses for investors in University City, which helped me pay my graduate school tuition.  I still maintain my own home and rental property.  My current home was built in 1926.  I’ve lived in homes built in the 1880’s, 1930’s, 1940’s and 1970’s so I’ve practiced my skills on a wide range of construction techniques and materials.

Why This Matters… Since I know what makes a house work, how they’re constructed and maintained, I have a pretty good “eye” for quality work and shoddy repairs.  I can’t take the place of a licensed electrician, home inspector or technician, but I can point out potential problems and help you ask the right questions before you make the biggest investment of your life, or help you prepare your home prior to selling it.
